The patch that brought English

Patch 1.30 — released October 27, 2026, alongside the global launch — added English, French, and Spanish language support. If you bought the Japanese version early, this was a free update, not a separate purchase: the same app gained the new languages.

Language additions in 1.30

  • English (interface, subtitles)
  • French
  • Spanish (Spain)
  • Joining Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese — seven official languages total.

Everything else in 1.30

  • Protagonist’s Birthday event system (Year 2+, affection level 3+ villagers)
  • The Seeder tool — 3-tile planting, upgradeable at the anvil
  • Plumbing Fixture furniture series (10 items, needs the Fox Hunting Permit)
  • QoL: barn/greenhouse flipping, wider item hand-off range, kanji input pad (Japan)

It reached all platforms together

NIS America’s “New Content Added Alongside the English Launch” announcement confirms the same additions shipped with the English version everywhere — Switch, Switch 2, PS5, and Steam. Japanese players who had been playing since July received the same content as their free Patch 1.30.

  • Patch 1.20 (September 28): camping furniture, new livestock, farmland expansion, Furniture Catalog.
  • Patch 1.30 (October 27): languages, birthdays, Seeder, plumbing.
  • Paid DLC: planned for Spring 2027. Full history on our updates page.

If you find an unofficial English patch

After the global launch there is no reason to use fan patches: official English is free, complete, and supported. Fan patches from the Japanese-only months are now obsolete and can conflict with updated saves. See change language for the supported way to switch.
