What's identical (a lot)
Both Nintendo versions shipped from the same July 30, 2026 Japanese launch and the same October 27, 2026 western release, with the same content: seven languages, all free updates through Patch 1.30, birthday events, livestock, camping furniture, the Furniture Catalog, and the Spring 2027 DLC roadmap. Neither has multiplayer — the game is single-player everywhere.
Documented differences
- Japanese physical sales data separates the platforms: the Switch 2 physical version charted #9 in Famitsu’s September 7-13 week, indicating strong demand on the newer hardware.
- Store listings and pricing may differ per region and per platform — check both eShop entries.
Not yet documented
- Head-to-head performance analysis (frame rate, resolution, load times) has no official or named-review source yet. This page will link such coverage the moment it exists.
How to decide
- You own only one — buy for the one you own; content is the same.
- You own both — with no documented technical advantage yet, decide by where your save habits live (handheld couch play vs. docked) and by eShop pricing that week.
- You care about achievements/cloud features — consider the Steam version instead; Nintendo versions don’t have them.
- You want physical — see physical editions for regional availability.
