Two release dates, one game

The Switch 2 version of Village in the Shade launched twice, like every platform:

July 30, 2026 — Japan

  • Switch 2 was a launch platform for the Japanese release.
  • The game became a quick hit: 200,000+ copies by September 21’s milestone announcement, 250,000+ by the end of September.
  • Famitsu’s September 7-13 chart placed the Switch 2 physical version #9 in weekly sales.

October 27, 2026 — Worldwide

  • NIS America’s global launch covered Switch 2, Switch, PS5, and Steam simultaneously — the official launch trailer names all four platforms.
  • English, French, and Spanish support arrived the same day via Patch 1.30.

What shipped on day one (west)

    • The full base game plus every free update through 1.30 — including the birthday event system, the Seeder tool, and the plumbing furniture series.
    • Seven-language support: EN/JA/KO/zh-TW/zh-CN/FR/ES.
    • A launch-day livestream on NIS America’s official channel.
